Crown Reduction & Thinning
Crown reduction is one of our favourite and most important services that we offer. DL Corran Tree Surgeons take pride in our love of trees.
All of our team members hold a PTI qualification (Professional Tree Inspector). This qualification allows us to diagnose any problem that may be causing difficulties to a tree’s health. We will consider every option of surgery, including: crown reduction, crown thinning, removing weight from over reaching limbs, raising and lifting the crown, removing dead wood, etc. We will consider these options before considering removing the tree all together.
Crown reduction and crown thinning is a very satisfying aspect of our work; by removing weight from limbs you relieve the tree many mechanical stresses that it may be under on individual branches or the tree as a whole, making the tree more suited to its environment and also reducing the effects of shading and light loss. Not only does this promote a healthy tree but will also prolong the life span of the tree and will allow more light to pass through the tree and reduce wind resistance.
Looking after the health of your tree is very important, that is why when reducing or thinning your tree we will always take limbs back to a growing point which results in less decay and dead wood in the future, but also works towards a more natural look and shape to your tree.
When working on your tree all our methods and techniques will be conducted at the highest standard, resulting in a safe working environment and minimal disturbance of the grounds and surrounding area. We always aim to leave your garden in the condition we find it.
